Mississippi is Facing the Onslaught of Foreclosures for Sale
The state of Mississippi is famous for being the birthplace of the king of Rock and Roll, Elvis Aaron Presley, Cotton and Blues music. And just like Elvis and the poor folks that picked cotton and played the blues, Mississippi is facing the onslaught of foreclosed homes that is blackening the country at the moment.
Mississippi has almost always been a depressed area of the south with a poorer class of honest working folks striving to make a living doing what they could to keep the bills paid and the roof over the family heads.
There are over eighty counties in the state of Mississippi and every one of them is suffering from the crisis facing our great nation. You can go to any of the many sites on line and search the foreclosure listings in any county you choose and bring up a range of homes from barely inhabitable shacks to mansions fit for southern nobility on the foreclosure listings.
The epidemic is wide spread and there is no one that is immune to it. People who have had what they thought were secure jobs have gotten over extended, took out larger second or third mortgages and then if the job is lost or some other financial crisis fell, they were forced into an option that left the home on the foreclosure lot.
These listings are varied and they are diverse and if you search them you can find exactly what you are looking to buy. In fact, you may find a lot of them that fit your wants and you may well be surprised at how much your real estate investment dollar can buy in the state of Mississippi.
The state of Mississippi is bordered on the western side by the river that shares its name and there are a lot of foreclosed property options on the river. So this is an excellent place to look at property that will give you a great return on your investment dollar. I would implore you though to research the flood plains as you are researching the market. The mighty Mississippi river has been know to flood and when it does it takes no prisoners and the investment property you bought may well find itself under that old black water of the big muddy river as it travels towards New Orleans.
That being said, to the north you can find amazing amounts of foreclosed property within short distances of Memphis where you can enjoy blues, jazz and a visit to Graceland, official home of Elvis. So you can make this a destination home, should you decide to keep it, or a good resale if you decide you don’t want to sell after all.
The northern area is also nice because you not only have close proximity to Memphis, but you still have the Mississippi river to the west so you can get double your value with riverfront and in close to Memphis so your dollar should go farther and get more back should you later look to sell it.
